About Me
Isabella Slezak is a figurative illustrator, graphic novelist, and designer. Her work explores the intersection of art and storytelling. Pulling from a variety of influences, from the gothic and fantastic, to myths, folklore, and traditional fairy tales. Here, she refashions them in contemporary light, focusing on feminist narratives, LGBTQ issues, and social critiques. Stylistically, her art is influenced by graphic novels, comic books, and manga.
She has recently graduated from Bard College, where she received a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Her senior thesis show Madonna Metamorphosis showcased a series of illustrations focused on women in folklore and fairytales.
